I got to agree elal. I'd rather stand up and look the shooters in the eyes. Maybe have a last cigarette.
Probably wouldn't let me have the cigarette though. Seeing that it would be bad for my health.

an execution method to be effective must be feared. to be feared it must couple pain with duration, and be a public spectacle.
lethal injection is a poor method used by a misguided and fretful people more intent at seeming to be kind than dispensing justice.
if the electric chair would fry slowly with smoke and burning, it would eclipse the others.
firing squad is too quick. hanging too quick. all too quick. drawing and quartering is good, but is not on the list. therefore i do not vote.

Scrib, how about this. Train a pack of dogs to be killers. Turn the condemned person loose in a large enclosure then unleash the dogs. LEt the dogs tear the condemned to pieces. Televise it. Encourage betting on how long it takes.

Seems like I remember some reference to a "Death of 1000 Cuts". That would add a little artistry to the process.
I used to think that if the media would depict war and violence and death more realistically, that people would turn against that sort of thing. Unfortunately, I was mistaken.
For those who might refrain from committing capital crimes, there will be those inspired to a death of glory and proof of manhood.
Privatize it, tax it, and air it as "reality TV", but don't think that it will help make folks stop committing capital crimes.

It has been 100% effective in stopping that particular person from committing another capital crime.

After 15 years on death row, few would be dangerous. Not that I'd want Dahmer or Bundy living in my garage apartment.

Then you should probably shut up... You know they are danger and wouldn't want them living near you. You, like most libs , just sit on their smug high horse knowing the odds are they would kill someone else's family and not yours. After 15 years on death row, few would be dangerous. Not that I'd want Dahmer or Bundy living in my garage apartment.

Most murders age out of it. The 20 year old who shot somebody is not likely to as a 45 year old. Hormones, education, different zeitgeist, whatever, it doesn't happen all that often.

"Then you should probably shut up...."
What's good for the goose is good for the moronboorpiggopher.
And those who are executed for crimes they did not commit, boo on you. They won't reopen the cases because they don't want to proof of who they killed without reason.
Yeah, killers who are executed won't kill again, nor will those who are executed, but who never killed.
What a moronboorpiggopher.

What cases would you like reopened? Which specific ones or are you just parroting some OccupyDemotard? "Then you should probably shut up...." Well moronboorpiggopher, the Cameron Todd Willingham case that The Gube, Rick "Loser" Perry has been squelching for years would be a good place to start. Perry helped kill him through inaction, but has been very active in keeping the case from being reexamined. We've probably already had this discussion, so I don't imagine you'll remember it this time either. What cases would you like reopened? *yawn* Man it gets boring listening to you drone on about stuff you know nothing about other than what some left wing , lapdog bleeding heart organization tells you to believe. It's like you Mic Check very whacked out , pathetic cause there is. I mean, you talk about them, you don't do anything, but you do ramble on like you really care. So jross, sschool will be out in a couple months, maybe you can get the high schoolers to protest these miscarriages of justice for you. Seems the college kids are busy occupying things, maybe you can these students to carry that banner so you can continue working on your retirement.
But hey, I guess bringing it up on a message board with 4 members is "doing something" too.
I just have to wonder what issue moves you enough to join your brethren. It must suck to be part of a radical movement that values "action" and be a sellout.
