So them guys put on them red high heeled shoes and tromped around the courthouse. So what.
Now they can go around saying 'I support women!"? I am sympathetic to women's problems? Because they paid a few bucks and got a blister and sore arches in a once a year thing?
Once a year mother's day rolls around, and as long as you send a card or flowers or a balloon or buy her a meal at Burger King you can go around the rest of the year pulling out plums and telling yourself what a good boy or girl am I?
It's like going to church. You go to church once a week for an hour and the rest of the time you can lie cheat and steal and whore around with a clear conscience. "I am a good Christian, now open up that wallet."
You get on your knees and take the lord as your savior and then go on your merry way being the lousy bastud you always have been except now you are a sanctimonious lousy bastud.
Thing about our society is that there are so many ways to buy into a quick and easy fix to a bad conscience.
Sermon over.
Tanks fer listnin.

What is idiotic about spending an hour a week in church so you can feel all holy? Or taking 30 minutes out of the workday once a year to show you are all so sympathetic to women's issues? That's smart!!!

Some of the guys were down there for extra credit points. At least three of them were my students. Some of them were vets who dealt with violence toward women. Some of them have had partners, friends, family members who have been sexually assaulted. I imagine that a number of them take more time out of their year, and invest more than a few blisters in public awareness of sexual assault of children, women, and men.
But, what the Hel? As long as it doesn't happen to me, why should I care?
